CLARKE, (Gillis) Marion, "Robinson"
August 9, 1923 - December 27, 2014. It is with sadness we announce the death of Marion Clarke, who passed away peacefully in Pickering, Ontario. Marion was the daughter of Angus J. and Mary Margaret (Campbell) Gillis. She was born in Skye Glen, Cape Breton.
Predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Freddie, Lauchie, John M. and Muckie; sisters, Irene, Tena and Annie Mae. Marion was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Marion moved to Toronto at a young age, although her love of Cape Breton kept her returning for visits whenever possible. Marion was a member of the Salvation Army East Toronto Citadel. A special thank you to our cousin Janet who helped care for our dear Aunt Marion over the years. At Marion's request, her final resting place will be back home in Cape Breton.
Visitation and Service will be held at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh, on Saturday, January 17, 2015, from 2-4p.m. with Major Kent Hepditch, Salvation Army Pastor officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery, Whycocomagh, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army, or charity of choice.
