Cameron, John Robert "Bob", 77- Port Hood, Inverness Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father and grandfather on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
Born April 22, 1937, on Port Hood Island he was the son of the late Daniel and Geneva (Bell) Cameron. Bob was a dedicated Toronto Maple Leaf fan, a long-time fisherman and loved spending time at the cottage on Port Hood Island. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen (Embree); children, Carl (Shelley); Dennis (Carrie); Barry (Darlene); Bonny (Roger); grandchildren, Craig, Troy, Cody and Brianna; Meagan, Nicole, Allison and Ryan; Neil, Katie and Noah; Olivia and Clayton; two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Parker. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his brothers, Wilfred Cameron and Donald Cameron; sisters, Margaret MacLeod, Isabel Hanna, Rhoda Kelly, Betty Bond.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held in St. Stephen's & Jubilee United Church, Port Hood on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Margie Plant officiating. Burial will be held at a later date on Port Hood Island.
Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s memory to St. Stephen`s & Jubilee United Church or a Charity of your Choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
