Cavanagh, Margaret Louise - Age 81 of Port Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2016 in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born March 15, 1935 in St. Catharines, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Sidney and Mary (Atkinson) Pidduck, sister of Sheila Cook, Lorna Simmons, Thomas Pidduck, the late Amy Hipwell, and the late Sharon McCarthy, all of Ontario. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and friends, with an interest in poetry, reading, card games, baking and was an avid bingo player. Margaret is survived by, Gerald Warren Cavanagh, her loving husband of 63 years, her children, Dan (Esther) Cavanagh, Ont.; Jane (Gerard) Marchand, Port Hawkesbury; Shawn (Anna) Cavanagh, Port Hawkesbury; Lyle (Joan) Cavanagh, Ont.; Mark (Theresa) Cavanagh, Port Hawkesbury; Shannon (Michael) Richards, Linwood. Margaret was also the loving Grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A special sincere thank you to the staff of the Milford Home for Special Care, Guysborough for the exceptional care that Margaret received. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 22 at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Hawkesbury with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Burial to follow in Southbrook Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury.
