Cavanagh, Gerald Warren Age 83 of Port Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2016 at the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, in Guysborough, NS. Born February 3, 1933 in Welland, Ont, he is the son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Hunter) Cavanagh. Gerald’s accomplishments include being a member of the St. Catharine’s Fire Department, Ont., the Louisdale District Volunteer Fire Department, Richmond County Sheriff and C & C Security. He enjoyed helping others and spending time with family and friends. Gerald is predeceased by Margaret Louise (Pidduck) Cavanagh, his loving wife of 63 years and is survived by his children Dan (Esther) Cavanagh, Ont, Jane (Gerard) Marchand, Port Hawkesbury, NS, Shawn (Anna) Cavanagh, Port Hawkesbury, NS, Lyle (Joan) Cavanagh, Ont, Mark (Theresa) Cavanagh, Port Hawkesbury, NS, Shannon (Michael) Richards, Linwood, NS. Gerald was also the loving Grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A special sincere thank you to the staff of the Milford Home for Special Care in Guysborough, NS for the exceptional care that Gerald received. Visitation will be on Monday, August. 22, 2016, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August. 23, 2016, in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury with Pastor Jonathan London officiating.
