CLYKE, Christine Eleanor – Age 82, Sunnyville, Guysborough Co. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother. She passed away peacefully and quietly at her home on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in the early morning with her loving daughter at her side. Born in Sunnyville she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Bowden. Christine was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey; brothers, Everette and James Borden; sisters, Sarah Jane and Lominda; grandson, Harold; granddaughter, Shianna; great-grandson, Troy. She is survived by her children, Harold, Toronto; Carl (Carolyn), Guysborough; Clarence, Mississauga, Ont; Aubrey, Toronto; Clinton, London, Ont; Russell (Giselle), Gatineau, Que; Doreen, Guysborough; Ida, Montreal; Joan, Guysborough; Curtis (Joanne), St. Thomas, Ont; Kevin (Sarah), Dundas, Ont; Linda (Doug), Guysborough; sisters, Marie, Toronto; Elizabeth, Sydney; Evelyn, Bedford; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Christine liked baking and cooking and knitting. She worked at the Canso Sea Foods for 37 years. After that she worked as a private house keeper. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Bell for her wonderful care and also to Palliative Care and Home Support and as well the staff and nurses of the Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, March 11, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from Wesley United Church, Guysborough with the ashes of her husband, Aubrey to be included in the service with Rev. Heather Manuel and Deacon Alonzo Reddick officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of one’s choice.
