CRESINE (Bond), Helen Lillian - Age 94, Boylston, Guysborough Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother on Monday, March 4, 2019, with her family by her side in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Helen was the eldest of 17 children born on January 15, 1925 to the late Clarence and Minnie (Delaney) Bond of Halfway Cove, Guysborough Co. Helen is survived by sons, George (Dorothy), Lloyd (Patricia); daughter, Shirley Delorey, all of Boylston; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald (Claire), Antigonish; Percy (Joy), Mulgrave; Gordon (Myrtle), Frankville; Garfield and Lloyd, Halfway Cove; sisters, Verna Ritchey, Eastern Passage; Rita Hansen, Dartmouth; Bernice Bond, Antigonish; Eileen (Pete) Woolridge, Halifax; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; son, Donald; brothers, Garland, Wesley, Aubrey, Donald and John "Arnie"; sisters, Marguerite and Marie. We would like to give a special thank you to the Hart family who were always there for Helen. Helen moved to Boylston at the age of 16 and began working for MacMaster’s as a housekeeper and later as a Store Clerk. She met and married Harold Cresine, and they had 4 children. After her husband’s death (1963) she again began working as a Store Clerk. No one ever left Helen’s home without a tea and some of her special treats. She was an avid baker, there was nothing she enjoyed more than seeing people delight in her cooking. Helen loved to knit, embroider, crochet, and sew. She enjoyed making care bears and knitting socks and mittens for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We would like to thank Doctor Bell, Doctor Ranjini and the staff of the Guysborough Memorial Hospital for their care of mom in her final days. We would also like to thank the staff of the Milford Haven Home for Special Care where she was a resident for the last 7 months. Cremation has taken place.
