EMBREE (Ryan), Mary Catherine - 74, Port Hawkesbury, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Port Hawkesbury, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Jessie (MacIntyre) Ryan. Mary was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Port Hawkesbury. She was an employee of the former Woolworth's/Woolco store, Port Hawkesbury. Surviving are daughters, Patsy (Wayne) Brow, New Glasgow; Paula (David) Burns, Port Hawkesbury; son, Jimmy (Chris), England; sisters, Sarah Dorton, Port Hawkesbury; Anne Laffin, New Glasgow; Elizabeth Ryan, Linacy; grandchildren, Tracy McMullen, Dwain Brow, Tara, Kayla and Kelsie Burns, Michael, Despina and James Embree. She was predeceased by her husband, James; sisters, Pauline McNamara, Margaret MacKinnon; stepsister, Adelia MacDonald; brothers, Daniel R., Ambrose, Stephen, Wilfred, Patrick, Sylvester, Joseph, Anthony, Leo, and Thaddeus. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday with a vigil service at 8:30 p.m. both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please.
