Sylliboy, Alexandrine - 69, Waycobah First Nation, Inverness Co., died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck. Born in Whycocomagh, she was a daughter of the late William Noel and Caroline (Cabot) Sylliboy. She attended Whycocomagh Federal School, St. Joseph's Convent School, Mabou, she was a survivor of Shubenacadie Residential School and attended Mount Saint Bernard, Antigonish. Alexandrine worked and resided in Boston for over 30 years, the last 7 years she was a resident of Alderwood Rest Home. She was a member of Blessed Katerie Parish, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah. She is survived by daughters, Constance Marie (Lindsay) Metallic, Burnt Church, N.B.; Michelle, Vancouver; sons, John (Sadie) and Michael both of Waycobah; grandchildren, Kyle, Elizabeth Ann, Colton, Gavin, Alice and Michael; great- grandchildren, Carmine, Melody, Bryson, Marjorie and Carleigh; sisters, Mildred Narvey, Burnt Church, N.B.; Marie (Grand Chief Ben) Sylliboy; Dorothy Googoo; Sarah (Cecil) Condo, all of Waycobah; brothers, Bernie; Lawrence "Larry", James, all of Waycobah; uncle Ben Noel Sylliboy, Eskasoni; Aunt Catherine Bernard, Eskasoni; godchild Madeline Bernard; numerous nieces and nephews. Alexandrine was predeceased by stepmother, Janet Sylliboy; sisters, Linda Paul and Christina Sylliboy; sister-in-laws, Molly Sylliboy and Janet Sylliboy; brother-in-law, Ryan C. Googoo; nephews, Wayne and Trevor.
Visitation will be held at the family home, 8647 Trans Canada Hwy. 105, Waycobah after 2 p.m. Saturday. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, from Blessed Katerie Parish, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah, with Father Robert McNeil officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
