ROBERTS, Bruce Allan — 57, Canso. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a very loving son, brother and uncle on Thursday, March 25, 2010, which occurred in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso, he was a son of Edith (Jamieson) Roberts and the late Judson Roberts. He attended trade school in Port Hawkesbury and received a diploma in marine electronics. Bruce was a dedicated employee, spending much of his employment at the fish plant in Canso. In his leisure he enjoyed sports fishing, duck hunting, fly tying, cooking and sailing around the Canso Islands in his boat. His pride and joy was his garden, which was often enjoyed by many family and friends. He was a community minded person, and was happiest when he was helping those in need. He served many years in various positions with All Saints Anglican Church, Canso including: Member of the Parish Council, Parish Warden, Church Warden and Server. He is survived by his mother, Edith (Jamieson) Roberts, Canso; brother, William (Marlene) Roberts, Canso; sister, Norma Swaine, Halifax; nieces, Angie (George Hayman) Fraser, Carla Roberts, both of Lower Sackville; Natasha (Rob) Hiltz, Dartmouth; nephew, Kevin Roberts, New Glasgow; three great-nieces and three great-nephews. Carrying out the wishes of the family, there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 27 in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial at a later date. Reception to follow in Canso Lion Club. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Bruce may be made to All Saints Anglican Church, Canso or Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
