ROBERTS (Boudreau), Valerie Yvonne – 46, of Canso, passed away suddenly on February 23rd, 2011 at home as a result of a pulmonary thromboembolism. Born in Canso June 1st, 1964, she was a daughter of Margaret "Tuttie" (Feltmate) Boudreau, Canso and Murdock Boudreau, Truro. In addition to her mother and father, Val is survived by her husband Robert "Bob", and her two children, Bobby, Canso and Rachel, Dartmouth. She is also survived by her sister Rose, Canso and her brother, Jerome (Virginia), Peasbrook, mother and father in-law, Nina (O’Hearn) and Edward Roberts, Canso, brothers in-law, Gordon (Greta), Canso, Joseph, Pictou, sister in-law, Patricia (Will), Canso, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Val was a loving and dedicated wife and mother and a friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed baking, walking, visits with her tanning customers, and spending time with her dog Rae and cat Sandy. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Canso Fire Department and Star of the Sea Parish, Canso. She will be greatly missed by many. Visitation will be held in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso on Saturday, February 26th from 7-9p.m. and Sunday, February 27th from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Funeral mass will be held in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday February 28th with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
