CAMPBELL, Christine Johanna -83, Malagawatch, Inverness Co., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in the Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s. Born in Marble Mountain, Inverness Co., on April 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John Laughlin and Katie Ann (MacIntosh) Campbell. She was a member of the Malagawatch Fulton Presbyterian Church, where she served on many committees. Christine lived most of her life in her beloved community of Malagawatch, where she served on many committees and was surrounded by many wonderful neighbours and friends. She gave timelessly of herself expecting nothing in return. Her door was always open to all with lots of good food and hospitality. She was a loving wife, mother, foster mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Archibald, Richmond Villa; sons, Bobby (Marion), Blues Mills; Lawrence (Linda), Orangedale; foster sons, Kenny Moore, Sydney; Bernie Moore, Truro; grandchildren, Ian (Wanda) MacLean, Angie (Raymond) MacKenzie, Matthew (Siobhan) Campbell, Bradley (Kassie) Campbell, Michael (Chantalle Annette) Campbell, Brent (Chelsea Haliburton) Campbell, Adam Campbell, Beth MacLeod (her father, Ernie MacLeod); great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Mya and Mason MacLean, Chloe and Samatha MacKenzie, Isaac Robert Campbell; brother-in-law, Laurie (Madeline) Campbell; nephews, nieces, many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Marilyn Ann MacLean; son-in-law, Hugh MacLean; infant great-granddaughter, Abbey MacLean; sister, Catherine MacDonald; brother-in-law, Johnny MacDonald; niece, Phyllis MacDonald. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to the staff and caregivers at the Richmond Villa, who treated our mother like their own. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Friday from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday from the River Denys Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Malagawatch Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to the Malagawatch Cemetery Fund or a charity of choice.
