BURKE, Amelda Jeanne - 78, River Bourgeois, died Tuesday February 1, 2005, in the Richmond Villa, St. Peter's. Born in River Bourgeois, she was a daughter of the late Alcide and Anastasia (Deveau) Burke. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist parish, River Bourgeois and the C.W.L. She was a member of the River Bourgeois Senior's Club and a senior bowler. She also enjoyed a good game of cards. Surviving are her husband, Alex; daughter, Claudette (Joe) King, Evanston; daughter-in-law, Claire Burke, River Bourgeois; son, Mark (Marie), River Bourgeois; sister, Leda Konning (the late Tony), Catherine (George) Boudreau, both of River Bourgeois; grandchildren, Tony (Jen), Port Coquitlam, B.C.; Melissa, Nanaimo, B.C.; Mark Jr. (Viola), Mitchel, Andy, Lynn and Melanie, all of River Bourgeois; Patrick and Alyson King, Evanston; great-grandson, Dylan; Godchildren, Brian Burke, Doreen Burke, Colleen Sampson, Elizabeth MacNamara, and Gloria Boudreau. She was predeceased by son, Gus; one son and one daughter in infancy; brother, Alfred. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday in River Bourgeois Community Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Father Reg Currie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please.
