BALTZER, Elsie Marie - 88, Canso, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Olivia (Burns) George. She was a retired employee of the Eastern Memorial Hospital housekeeping department, and an adherent of St. Paul's United Church, Canso. She was an avid animal lover, especially her dog Bo. Surviving are daughter, Marie (Brent) MacKinnon, Old Barns; daughter-in-law, Linda, Sudbury, Ont.; sons, Charlie (Pat), Thunder Bay, Ont.; Frank (Karen), Sudbury, Ont.; brother, Bill (Muriel) George, New Glasgow; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; special friends, Elaine and Stephen Bushell, Winnie Roberts, and Sheila Lawrence. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; brother, Donald; sister, Frances. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial in Fourth Hill Cemetery, Canso. Donations in memory of Elsie may be made to the Palliative Care Department of Eastern Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
