Buckley, Alice Maude Evelyn—90, Guysborough died Thursday February 22, 2007 in the Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Gordonsville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Effie (Jones) Craig.
She was an elementary school teacher, retiring in 1957 and in the 60’s she worked for Statistics Canada with the Labour Force Survey for Guysborough County. In 1967 she was the co-founder of the Guysborough Kindergarten. She was a member of Wesley United Church, Guysborough, and a member of Guysborough and Area Garden Club. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her stepson Craig, Guysborough and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husband Walter Guy Buckley, sisters Beulah Brooks, Anna Wells, Muriel Buckley and Viola Craig in infancy; brothers Harold Craig, Kenneth Adams and Paul Craig.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 1, 2007 at 11 am in the Wesley United Church, Guysborough, Rev Leonard Oracheski officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Memorial donations may be made to charity of ones choice.
