BEATON, Neil Dan - 58, East Skye Glen, Inverness Co., died Monday, April 2, 2007, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Inverness, he was a son of the late Chris D. and Annie Margaret (Beaton) Beaton. Neil Dan was a 34 year employee of the Department of Transportation, Ashfield. He was a member of the Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department, active in the community, president of Skye Glen Cemetery Association, and a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh. Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he is survived by daughter, Laura (Adam) White, Eastern Passage; son, Christopher, Sydney; sisters, Jessie (Oren) MacLean, Sussex Corner, N.B.; Susan (Neil) MacDonald, Hammonds Plains; sister-in-law, Lillian Beaton, Glencoe; brother, Andy (Doris), Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Drake and Brady White; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Stewart.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Rev. Lloyd Murdock and Father Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in Skye Glen Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Skye Glen Cemetery Fund or a charity of choice.
