BUCHANAN, Elsie Mary — 81, Kempt Road. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elsie Mary Buchanan with her children by her side at her home on February 14, 2010. Born in Balmoral, she was the eldest daughter of the late John Alex and Mabel (MacRae) MacDonnell. Elsie loved quilting, gardening and watching birds. She enjoyed a good game of cards and doing crafts. Family was very important to Elsie and she looked forward to having them come home for a visit. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (John Leclerc), Truro; Jocelyn Stone, River Bourgeois; Emmeline (Richard Hunt), Whitecourt, Alta.; Jean (Phil Chard), England; sons, Brian (Linda), Kempt Road; George (Elaine), Riverside Corner; Blair (Betty) Estevan, Saskatchewan; Glen (Eva), Lantz; daughter-in-law, Faye, Rawdon Gold Mines; sisters, Kaye, Isabel, Ethel, Annie; brothers, John, Edward, Ralph, Duncan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Duncan; son, Hugh John and son-in-law, Lloyd Stone; brothers, Jim and Dan; sisters, Elizabeth and Mary.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. No visitation by request of the family. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place in Black River United Church on Saturday, February 20, at 11 a.m. with K. Wayne Yorke, DLM officiating. Following the service there will be a reception in the Arm of Gold Community Hall, St. George's Channel. Burial in Kempt Road Cemetery.
