BOUDREAU-HEARN, Marian "Joyce" — 55, Mulgrave. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother, Marian "Joyce" Boudreau-Hearn. She passed away Monday, March 8, 2010, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Frankville, Antigonish Co., she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (MacDonald) Boudreau. Joyce worked at various jobs in her lifetime. Some of which were a Case Aide Worker, Department of Community Services, Guysborough; Festival /Theater Antigonish box office, Antigonish and Antigonish Town & County Community Liaison for Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). In 1995 Joyce decided to go back to school, upgrade her education, and eventually received her diploma in Human Services Counseling. In 1998 Joyce embarked on starting her own business "From the Heart Poetry" where she sold over 300 framed personalized poetry for business and residents. In later years Joyce worked as a private hospice worker employee giving loving care to those in need. Joyce was a former President of Girl Guides in Mulgrave, and volunteered for many organizations such as CNIB, Cops for Cancer, Heart and Stroke Big Bike Ride, (Co-Captain), and the Canadian Cancer Society. She also received awards of distinction for work done in many of these areas. In 1976, Joyce married Neil Stewart and was married for a number of years. Through this marriage she had three children. She is survived by her beautiful girls, Jocelyn Stewart- Bowers (Troy), Mulgrave; Tara Stewart, Lower Sackville and precious son, Tyler Benjamin Stewart, Halifax. In 1997, Joyce remarried. Her beloved husband, Patrick Hearn was her best friend and confidant. She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Beaton, (godmother), Lower South River; Gloria Forrestall, Carmel Forrestall, (Robert) both of Auld's Cove and Twila Venedam (Joe), Pomquet. She is also survived by brothers, Donald (Kay) Boudreau, (godfather), Halifax; Gerald Boudreau, Frankville and Blaise (Theresa) Boudreau, Antigonish. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. Funeral mass will be held in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave, 11 a.m. Friday, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating, assisted by Father Don Boudreau, (cousin of the deceased). Burial at a later date. Family flowers only please.
