Borden, Blanche Elizabeth (MacLellan) - Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 69, Lincolnville, Guysborough County passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at her home in Lincolnville. Born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Mary Desmond and Neil Boutilier, wife of the late George Albert Borden. Blanche spent most of her life in Lincolnville where she met the love of her life Albert "Albie" raising ten precious children to adulthood. Rarely a day passed without contact with her children, who considered her not only a mother but a best friend. Blanche "Betsy" was a quiet person, but who could voice her opinion in a way that could be heard. She had a strong faith in God and knew that God was needed in her life. Betsy led by example, by being confident, yet a humble and grateful person. Her loving and accepting personality won her many friends and acquaintances. Betsy loved to talk on the phone and had many phone friends. She was a member of the Lincolnville Community Centre and Tracadie United Baptist Church where she loved to sing with the choir. Blanche is survived by her children, Elaine (Joseph), Timberlea; Aritha (Jim), Greenwood; Mary Rose (Lucky), Lincolnville; Albert Jr. (Shannon), New Glasgow; Laura (Nelson), Timberlea; Sheila (Elton) , Lincolnville; Patsy (Dwayne) , Sackville; Roger (Lorna), Antigonish; Dorothy (Steven), Halifax; Basil, Antigonish; her wonderful grandchildren, Chrissy whom she claimed as her own, PJ, Nathan, Christopher, Amanda, Patricia, Jazz, Maria, Basil Jr., Tyrone, Samantha, Tamara, Deaunte and Carson; great-grandchildren, Madison, Destiny, Albany and Jaydis; step-grandchildren , Kale, Kaine and Ryland and; sister, Sheila, Lincolnville; brothers, Whimpy, Toronto; James, Lincolnville; Clifford, Halifax and Raymond (Isabell), Winnipeg ; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert; her parents, Agnes and Neil; sisters, Christina, Mary and Beatrice; brother, Sidney; grandsons, Johnathan and Justin, nieces, Veronica and Wilma; nephew, William and her matrimonial-in-laws. The family would like to thank everyone for their support through her illness. Special thanks to Dr. Foley, Karen Hoben, Palliative Care and Guysborough Home Support Agency for your support and kind words of comfort. Visitation will be held Saturday in Lincolnville Community Centre, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Tracadie United Baptist Church, Rev. Emanuel Mutale officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Tracadie United Baptist Church or Guysborough Memorial Hospital Palliative Care. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough.
