BROWN, Carol A. – 58, Sand Point, Guysborough Co. passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013, in the Guysborough Memorial Hospital. If you are reading this, the cancer or related illness has taken me. I have loved this life, and I will miss you as much as you will miss me.
Born in New Glasgow in 1954, I was the daughter of the late Allison C. and Joyce I. (McCallum) Brown. I attended St. Francis Xavier University before spending 21 years with the Town of Riverview and City of Moncton RCMP offices. After moving to Sand Point, Guysborough Co. I worked for nine years at the East Coast Credit Union in Mulgrave. For several years I was a peer co-ordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society and participated in the Relay for Life in Port Hawkesbury.
I sadly leave behind my partner, G. Douglas Halfpenny, who made the last 15 years the most marvelous time of my life. Thank you for the love, happiness and care you gave me. I am survived by my three brothers and their families, Bill and Kim; Jim and Vicky, of NB; and Donald and Evelyn of NS; three nieces; three nephews; one grand nephew; aunts and many cousins. I also leave my extended family, the Halfpenny’s. Family has meant everything to me and I am grateful for the time we spent together.
An OES Service will be held at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service on Saturday, May 4, in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Melford, with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. A reception will follow at the Fire Hall in Hadleyville. Donations in my memory may be made to Palliative Care at the Guysborough Memorial Hospital Ladies Foundation or the St. James Anglican Church Building Fund, Melford. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
