Bond, Harvey James "Jim" -65 - Canso. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso, where he lost his battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. Born in Canso, he was a son of Pearl (Roberts) Bond and the late Edward Bond. He was a quality control manager at ACS Trading "A" Division, Mulgrave; he also worked many years at SeaFreeze, Canso. He was a mail deliverer for many years, and worked on electronics. Besides his mother, Pearl, Canso; he is survived by sons, Steven (Angela) and Randy both of Canso; Keven (April), Sydney; brother, Howard (Velma), sisters, Mary (Bud) Newell, Rosie (Dave) Parker all of Canso; grandchildren, Marcus, Jaedyn, Keven and Shirley, many nieces and nephews and his long-time friend, John "Doey" Smith. Jim was predeceased by his sister, Kathy Newell and brother-in-law Mike Newell. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 in Canso United Baptist Church with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial in Fourth Hill Cemetery.
