Burton, Janet Ann Marie - 68, Auld’s Cove, Antigonish Co., passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at home. Born in Port Hawkesbury, on November 23, 1944 she was one of 10 children, a daughter of the late Patrick Howard Ryan and Jennie Margaret (Ryan) Dorton. She leaves to mourn daughter, Laura Lee Hinkley (Embree), Port Hawkesbury; son, Clyde MacDougall (Ryan), Port Hawkesbury; husband, Larry Burton, Auld’s Cove; step-sons, Richard and Michael Burton, Montreal; sisters, Margaret MacNamara, Halifax; Francis (Peter) MacGarrity, Edmonton; Verna (Malcolm) Phillips, Margaree; grandchildren, Tyler, Kylie, Jalissa Hinkley; Erin, Nathan , Colin MacDougall, special aunt, Lizzy Ryan; sister-in-law, Betty Lou Ryan. Janet had many adorable nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides being predeceased by her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jason Talbot; brothers, Joseph Ryan, Howard Ryan, Thomas Ryan and Anthony Ryan; sisters, Louise Ryan and Florence Ryan; and grandson, Charles Embree. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please.
