BURBIDGE, Gordon Franklyn – 64, Aulds Cove, Antigonish Co., passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, after a lengthy illness with his family by his side. Born in Pembroke, Ont, he was a son of Frank Ronald Burbidge, of Bridgewater and the late Marjorie Elsa (King) Burbidge. Gordon was a member of the Aulds Cove Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to his camp. Surviving are his former spouse, Kathleen (Power); daughters, Janet, Mulgrave; Peggy (Walter Hatcher), Port Hawkesbury; sons, Garth, Port Hawkesbury; Norman (Deirdra), Gibbon, AB; brothers, Donald (Louise), Hull, Que; Wayne (Debbie), Windsor Junction; grandchildren, Alexis, Brandon, Emma and Noah. He was predeceased by brother, Reginald in infancy. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Saturday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. A family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society.
