Rose "Marie" Bouchie Little Dover, Guysborough County It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Rose Marie (Haines) Bouchie, age 94, of Little Dover, who died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. Born June 23, 1927 in Little Dover, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Gertrude (Keefe) Haines. Marie was a devout Catholic and a member of the Saint Agnes choir for many years. She was the center of the family and cherished the holidays and family gatherings. Marie was a homemaker with many skills, who nurtured and cared for her eleven children. She loved nothing more than to share a good laugh, especially with her many life-long friends in Little Dover, the place that she loved and called home for her entire life. She is survived by nine children, Verna (Edward) Doyle, Linda (Joseph) Bray, Sharon (Michael) MacIntyre, Shelley (Thane) Jamieson, Arlene, Renata (Daniel), Michael (Nancy), Don (Wanda), and Jim; 20 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald; son, Paul; daughter, Joan Matthews; granddaughter, Lisa Armsworthy; sons-in-law, William Armsworthy, Edward Doyle, Joseph Bray, Robert Matthews and Michael MacIntyre; brother, Gerald Haines; sisters, Jean Horne and Verna Grant. Cremation has taken place. On June 23, 2022 a service will be held in St Agnes Church, Little Dover, which would have been Mom’s 95th birthday. She loved nothing more than to celebrate her birthday with family and friends. The family would like to thank Mom’s niece, Noreen Casey for the many visits and phone conversations with our Mom over the recent months, and for friends who provided food, support, and comforting words. Donations in Marie’s memory may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital Foundation, Canso. Arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
