Myatt, Marion Patricia (Keefe) - age 87 years of Little Dover, Guysborough Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Marion passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 6:20 p.m. in Guysborough Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family who held her hand and waited patiently for God to take her home. Born in Little Dover on April 11, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Joseph Alexander Keefe and Mary Haines of Little Dover. She is survived by her children, Darlene (Buns) Kavanagh, Antigonish; Lucina (Howie) Rose, Canso; Joey (Kathleen) Myatt, Fox Island; Paula (Phillip) MacKenzie, Little Dover; Johnny (Cindy) Myatt, Canso; Rob (Marlaine) Myatt, Whitehead; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Paula Keefe; brother, Jerome Keefe; sisters-in-law, Louise and Agnes; brother-in-law, Alcide and many nieces and nephews and very special friend Jenny. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gerard for 61 years; her brothers, Gabriel, John and Clarence; sister, Fran; 2 infant sisters; daughter-in-law, Janice and grandson Myles; and great-granddaughter, Madison. Mom was our great Sheppard always looking after her flock, never letting her children stray. Mom loved Bingo and cards’ spending an evening with her family was so special to Mom. Mom had to hear from her children every day just to know that everyone was safe and sound. Mom devoted all her life to family and her husband, Gerard and was so proud of her accomplished duty of being an excellent Mother. Mom worked as a bookkeeper for G.W. Myatt Construction. She was also employed at Acadia Fisheries and Canso Sea Products for years. Mom will always be remembered as a caring and loving person, kind and gentle and very compassionate. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Mom you will never be forgotten R.I.P. Visitation will take place in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso, Thursday, June 22 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial at a later date in St. Agnes Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Marion may be made to St. Agnes Church, Little Dover.
