HALFPENNY, Everett Ronald- Age 72, Middle Melford, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully in the Guysborough Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 6, 2017. He was born in Middle Melford on October 2, 1944 to the late Russell and Beatrice (Somers) Halfpenny. He retired from the Dept. of Highways after 32 years of service. He is survived by his companion, Wilma Dort; sister, Evelyn Sample; brother, Ira (Elizabeth) Halfpenny; sisters-in-law, Hazel and Isabel and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Douglas, Gordon, Seymour and Calvin; brother-in-law, Vannie; sister-in-law, Loyola. Visitation will be in Mulgrave and Area Resting Place from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be held from St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford on Monday, July 10 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Sue Channen officiating. Burial in St. James Anglican Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
