RICHARDSON, Georgina Catherine "Jean" – 91, Evanston, Richmond Co. We regret to announce the passing of Jean, which occurred on Saturday, July 29, 2017 with the family by her side in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. She was born on December 15,1925 in Sunnyside and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Cummings) LeBlanc.
Jean was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Parish and a 50 year member of the C.W.L. She was known for her extraordinary baking. Jean loved when visitors stopped by for a cup of tea and greatly enjoyed Sunday family gatherings.
Jean is survived by daughters, Bertha (Roderick) Morrison, Dundee; Kaye Jeffrey (Evanston); precious grandchildren, Darryl (Cori), Keri (Gary), Shane, Ronald (Kelly), Jennifer (Chris), Jason (Angela), Stacey (Brian), Shauna (Adam); great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Emma, Cassandra, Samantha, Bailey, Halle, Keegan, Avery, Reid, Logan, Landon. She is also survived by sisters, Myra MacEachern, Dartmouth; Claire Wasson, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles "Charlie"; sons, Tommy and Joseph; brother, Rhodes; sisters, M.C. and Hughetta.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 2-9 p.m in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants, with Father Joe MacKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
Special thank you to the staff at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, Father Joe MacKenzie, the choir of St. Francis de Sales and Wesley Eager for preparing the grave.
