MacLean, Gerald Richardson "Gerry" - age 67 of Port Hawkesbury. Passed peacefully away on Friday, November 24, 2017 in the QE 11 Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Cheticamp he was a son of the late John and Helen (Urquhart) MacLean. Gerry worked for over 35 years at Stora Enso, Point Tupper where he was Maintenance Planner. He enjoyed moose hunting in Newfoundland with his Newfoundland buddies; snowmobiling, four-wheeling and he especially loved following his children and his grandchildren through there numerous sporting events, especially hockey. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Sharon (Short); children, Craig (Kim), Port Hood; Christopher, Creignish; Corliss, Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Dawson, Lauren, Michael, Lucy, John, Skylar, Maiya, Summer, and Olivia; sister-in-law, Sally MacLean, Windsor, Ont.; nieces and nephews, Tracey (Roy) MacLean-Dowdy; Tanya MacLean; Tara (Kenny) MacLean-Couls; Kimberly (Chad) MacLean-Kessler; Blair (Sharon) MacLean; Blake (Tiffany) MacLean; Andrew (Tonia) MacLean. Besides his parents, Gerry was predeceased by his brother, Brian MacLean. Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, from 4-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, in St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings with Rev. Roy Dowdy officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Bay Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Gerry may be made to St. Andrew's United Church, Pleasant Bay; Diabetic Association of Canada or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
