MacPherson, Ethel Abigail - of Port Hastings, Inverness Co., died peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2017 in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born on Port Hood Island she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Mabel (Smith) MacPherson. Ethel was a retired school teacher having taught in Inverness County and Halifax City School System. She was a member of St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings. Ethel is survived by her nephew, Bruce, Port Hastings; and many cousins, also her cat Tiger. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by sister, Hazel Oliver, brother–in-law, Everett Oliver and a sister, Laura in infancy and furry friend, Whiskers. By her request there will be no visitation, a private funeral service will be held at a later date with Nan Corrigan, DM officiating. Burial in Grantville Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
