FRASER, Christina Elizabeth "Katie" – Age 90, Troy, Inverness Co., passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Katie was born in Lowland Cove to the late Angus and Tina (MacEachern) Fraser on September 24, 1927. Katie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a homemaker. She was fluent in the Gaelic language and enjoyed singing Gaelic songs. She had a passion for Cape Breton fiddle music, stayed current by listening to CBC Radio and was well read by listening to audio books from the CNIB. She appreciated discussions on political events and literature. She carried on the Scottish tradition of storytelling and reminiscing about her happy childhood in Meat Cove. Besides her parents, Katie was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Daniel Fraser; sisters, Sarah Jennex, Christie Campbell, Catherine MacSween "Cassie", Mary MacLellan; brothers, Murdock, Frankie and Fraser. Katie is survived by her three daughters and one son, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one sister, daughters, Christina Fraser (Mark Taylor), Annapolis Royal; Mia Murphy (Darcy), Rocky Mountain House, AB; Georgina Fraser, Sydney; son, Christopher Fraser (Donna), Troy. The grandchildren include Adam Fraser, Tina Fraser, Carrie Fraser, Sarah Fraser, all of Port Hastings; Angus Boudreau, Sydney; Colin Roach, Halifax; Erin Fraser Foresyth, Calgary; sister, Marcella Dunphy, South Harbour. Cremation has taken place. A service for family will take place at a later date.
