CAMPBELL, Laurie Francis – Age 77, Whycocomagh, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at home. Born in Malagawatch, Inverness County, he was a son of the late Charles Gilbert and Jessie Belle (Kennedy) Campbell. Laurie worked as a truck driver for J.P. MacInnis Trucking in Whycocomagh for many years. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife, Madeleine (Cummings); daughters, Melody (Dave) Curran, Halifax; Crystal MacLennan (Jason Campbell), Melford; son, Shawn, Brantford, Ont; grandchildren, Jared and Beth as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine Murdena "Ta"; a son in infancy; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Christine; sister Dolena "Dolly"; son-in-law, Blair MacLennan; niece, Marilyn MacLean.
Cremation has taken place. The will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place on Sunday, May 20 at 2:30 p.m. in Malagawatch Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Malagawatch Cemetery or to the Parkinson Society Maritime Region. Arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh.
