MacInnis, Viola Dalton "Vi" (Wellwood) - Age 99 years of Whycocomagh, Inverness Co. It is with heartfelt sadness and fond memories that we regret to announce the peaceful passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother on Monday, January 29, 2018 in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck. Viola was born on March 21, 1918 in East Gore, Hants County. Viola is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Vi is survived by sons, Myles (Evelyn), Frank (Verda) and daughter, Beatrice (Robert); grandchildren, Annette, Jennifer and Jamie; Derek and Dean (Their mother Shelly); Tracy and Beverly; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands, J.P. (1983) and Wendell MacPhee (1996); as well as brothers, Frank and Leslie; sisters, Beatrice, Edith, and Hattie. Viola and J.P. were the founders of J.P. MacInnis Trucking and Vi’s Restaurant; both working very hard to build and maintain both their businesses and friendships over the years. They loved to travel; and especially loved their trips to Florida. We would like to thank the staff at Alderwood Rest Home for their care and support for the past eleven years. Visitation will be held Friday, February 2, from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 3 at 11 a.m. in Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh with Rev. Rachel Campbell officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery at a later date.
