Richard, Frank Clement - age 96 years of Half Island Cove, Guys. Co. passed away quietly on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Fox Island on January 26, 1922, he was a son of the late Catherine Jane (Bouchie) and John Thomas Richard. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Elsie Irene (Hendsbee); daughters, Valveeta (Seldon), Darlene (Tom 2015), Isabelle and Dorothy; sons, Wes, Clem, and Lloyd (Fay), 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter, Edna Adelia; son, Frank Joseph; brothers, Clarence, Edward, Bernard, Thomas, James, Charles (Babe) and sisters, Veronica, Cecelia, and Sophie. Frank was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He valued the simple things in life. Frank enjoyed dancing, taking the family for drives, and just getting out. He worked in both Nova Scotia and Ontario beginning at a very young age at the Canso Fish Plant with Roy Jamieson and retiring from National Sea Products. Later in life, he discovered a social enjoyment for Bingo, pulling break open tickets, and his drives. Frank was known for his teasing and his quick wit and smile. "Dad lives on in all our hearts". Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 21 from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 22 in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Parish Cemetery.
