MacKAY, Barry Kevin – Age 62 years of St. George's Channel, Richmond Co., died at home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Barry was born on March 4, 1955; he was a son of the late Alex and Verda (MacLean) MacKay. He was born in Sudbury, Ontario and Cape Breton was his home. Barry worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union, Local 83, Sydney; he also worked in the forestry sector. He is survived by his uncle, Allan "Bud" MacLean, Sydney; aunt, Jean Swiston, Huntsville, Ont.; and many cousins. Barry was predeceased by his parents and many aunts and uncles. There will be no visitation at Barry’s request. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11 a.m., in MacKay Cemetery, St. George's Channel with Rev. Donna Lovelace officiating. A time of fellowship will follow in St. Georges' Channel Hall. Memorial donations may be made to MacKay Cemetery Fund.
