MacLEAN, Isabelle "Jean" – Age 62, Wilburn, Inverness Co., passed away suddenly in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax, on Monday, July 23, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born on February 11, 1956, in Inverness and was a daughter of the late Peter and Irene (Pierro) Googoo. Jean was a kind and gentle soul who worked hard all her life to achieve her goals and she did. After getting her degree from Dalhousie University, she went on to work with the Transition House of Nova Scotia. She earned the love and respect of those who worked with her and for her. She had a keen interest in her ancestry and her Native Culture. Listening to her was like a history lesson of her family. Jean is survived by her husband of 29 years, Steve MacLean; sisters, Karen (Mike Doucette); Muriel (Louie Googoo); brothers, Joe (Judy); Brian and Byron (Jolee). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ian, Deana, Lacey and John Clark; aunt, Josephine Peck; daughter-in-law, Lesley; sister-in-law, Audrey Stewart; many godchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her only son, Dean Clark on September 5, 2017; brother, John "Dynamite" Googoo; sisters, Betty, and Mary in infancy. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday from Blessed St. Katari Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q First Nation with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
