MacKinnon, Ruth Jean - Age 75 years of Mackdale, Inverness Co. It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Ruth Jean MacKinnon announce her death. Ruth passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Ruth was born in Inverness on April 24, 1943 a daughter of the late Howard and Catherine (MacQuarrie) MacKinnon. Ruth is survived by her children, Rod MacKinnon, Deborah Anne Matthews, and Kevin MacKinnon; grandchildren, Alexander Brooks MacKinnon, Chantelle Wright, Chaylene Marie Wilkinson; great-grandchildren, Alexis Jean, Haily and Alecia and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her siblings, Stanley MacKinnon, Warren MacKinnon and Mary Cunningham. She was the last surviving member of her family. Thank you to all the homecare workers who did a fantastic job looking after her through the years. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held from 4-7 p.m., on Tuesday, October 9th in The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, 303 Reeves Street, Port Hawkesbury. Family flowers only please.
