LEONARD, Creighton Robert "CR" – Age 82 years of West Bay. Passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in West Bay he was a son of the late Creighton Robert and Annie May (MacMillan) Leonard. CR, upon retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces returned to West Bay where he was an active member of the community, the West Bay United Church and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47, Grande Anse. Surviving are his sister, Minnie Alice, Antigonish; brothers, Mitchell (Marguerite) and Donald, all of West Bay; sisters-in-law, Madeline, Hamilton, Ont.; Tena, St. Peters’ and Beverly, West Bay; brother-in-law, Arvid Ferguson, and former spouse, Margaret (Antigonish); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Jean Cresine, Frances Ferguson; brothers, Herbert, Alexander, Walter, Lloyd, Ross, Lawrence and Ewen. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019 from West Bay United Church with Rev. Donna Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow in West Bay Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to West Bay United Church, West Bay Cemetery Fund or to a charity of one’s choice.
