Boudreau, Roderick Albert "Rock’n Roddy" – Age 79 years of L’Ardoise, Richmond Co. It is with saddened and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roderick Albert Boudreau on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Albert James and Florence Marie (Sampson) Boudreau.
He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Roddy worked for the City of Halifax with 24 years of service. He was a drummer and vocalist with Starlights, The Nova Tones and The Shaken Trio. As well he was a carpenter and creative artist. He was the inspirational painter for the Queen’s Coronation for the St. Mary’s Boys School in Halifax. He was known to rock a good ole kitchen party!
Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Rose Mearie (DeWolfe), L’Ardoise; his beloved dog Patches, his children, Wayne (Joy) Boudreau their children, Colten and Brett, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Tammie (Robert) Simwamu their children, Jordan, Kenyatta, Isaiah and Noah; great- grandchildren, Kingston and Wynter, Strathmore, Alberta; Tanya Boudreau (Rob Ripley), Upper Tantallon; brother, Joseph (Dorothy) Boudreau, Bridgewater. Besides his parents Roddy was predeceased by his sister, Marie Hickey.
Thank You to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Strait Richmond Hospital, also to Palliative Care and his family doctor.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A reception will be held in Halifax, and will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to your local SPCA.
