WALKER, Caroline Elizabeth – Age 77, Creignish, Inverness Co., passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, March 11, 2019, in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Russell) Copley.
Caroline was very kind to all the kids of the community that would come to the rink, many referring to her as "Nanny Walker". She had a passion for baking and loved to do so. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Surviving are her children, Rose "Cookie" (Kiwi) Walker, Halifax; Neil Robert (Lina), Calgary; Jimmy, Creignish; sisters, Kay Ried, New Waterford; Genevieve MacMillan, Inverness; brothers, Eddie (Marie) Copley, Russell (Trudy) Copley, Junior Copley, Jimmy (Ann) Copley, all of Inverness; grandchildren, Carly Gillis, Rory Gillis, James Walker, Abby Walker, Alexander Walker and Matthew Walker. She was predeceased by her husband, Geordie; sisters, Jean Walker and Georgina Copley.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St. Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Friday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Creignish with Father Allan MacMillan officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Stella Maris Cemetery Fund, Creignish. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
