MacMULLIN, Duncan Robert - It is with heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to a wonderful father, brother, uncle & friend. Duncan passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Saturday, April 13, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. Born February 23, 1964, Duncan was the son of John & Jean MacMullin of Queensville.
Duncan is survived by his children, Emily (and her mother Elaine) of Mississauga, Ontario; Lacy, Myles & Monte at home. Duncan was a very caring father and loved his children dearly. Besides his children, Duncan is survived by his siblings, Bernie MacIntyre (Kathryn), Dartmouth; Grace MacDonald (Angus), Glendale; John (Jr) (Gail), Queensville; Linda Landry (Rolland), Sampsonville; Roy, Mississauga, Ontario; Rita Christian (Gerry), Port Hawkesbury; Carl (Lauriann), Sampsonville; Gloria Carter (Darren), Sampsonville; his aunt, Betty MacIntyre, Port Hawkesbury; he is also survived by step-daughters, Tylicia, Shanta, and Mataya, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Duncan was predeceased by his brother, Donnie.
Duncan was a loyal Toronto Maple Leafs fan & enjoyed playing baseball & softball. The family would like to thank the staff at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, the Palliative Care Staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital & Palliative Care Nurse, Nancy Cameron and Dr. Cooper for their care & compassion shown to Duncan during his illness. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held from St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, West Bay Road, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. A reception will follow at the West Bay Road & District Fire Hall.
Donations in Duncan’s memory can be made in trust to his children Lacy, Myles & Monte c/o Bank of Nova Scotia, Port Hawkesbury.
