MacIsaac, Sarah "Sally" Marie - Creignish Sarah (O’Brien) MacIsaac passed away peacefully at home in Creignish on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the age of 80 surrounded by her family. Sarah was predeceased by her husband, Alexander and is survived by her 8 children; John (Barb), Craigmyle, AB; Michael, Calgary, AB; Mary MacDonnell (Simon), Brooklyn; Johanna (Wayne) Johnson, Troy; Richard (Tracy), Creignish; Jessie (Kyle) McNamara, Creignish Rear; Virginia (Paul) Gossett, Florida; and Duncan (Vimy), Onslow Mtn. Sarah will be fondly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, Nolan, Sarah, Gracie, Rosie; Jeffrey, Justin; Hayle, Brian, Jack; Megan, Alexander, Michael, Luke; Jason and Jared. John and Zoe enjoyed their trips from Alberta to visit great-grandma Sally. Raised in Creignish Rear, she was the eldest child of Daniel and Johanna O’Brien. Sarah’s siblings are Joseph, Grace England, Catherine MacColl, Donald, Sandy, Pat, and she was predeceased by, Hughie. Sarah was a calm, spiritual, soft-spoken woman who was happiest surrounded by her family. There were many family events where Sarah could be seen sitting, watching her loved ones with sparkling eyes and pure contentment on her face. Sarah dedicated her life to raising her children. She enjoyed quilting, baking, reading, gardening, and woodworking. Sarah was very active in her community and her parish of Stella Maris. How many of us enjoyed Sally’s rolls at countless community functions? Sarah’s family thoroughly appreciated the care Sarah received from Continuing Care, the Oncology Team, Palliative care, including Dr. Cooper and Kyla as well as her family physician, Dr. McKenna. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, June16 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 17 from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Creignish with Father Allan MacMillan officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Stella Maris Cemetery Fund, Creignish or Strait Richmond Palliative Care.
