MacKinnon, Jessie Ann of Evanston, age 96 years. Passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Soapstone Mine, Inverness Co. on April 28, 1923 she was a daughter of the late John and Ella (MacKay) Cummings. Jessie was widowed at the age of 33 left to raise 3 children.
She was a lovely lady, kind, soft spoken and very religious. Jessie is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Left to mourn her loss are her daughters, Donelda "Donna" Boudreau with whom she resided; Geraldine (Terry) Sampson; son, John W. "Billy" (Maureen); grandchildren, Kim, Tanya, Donnie, Trina, Annette and Garry; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Jessie was predeceased by her Husband, Donald A.; sisters, Grantie, Catherine "Katie May", Delena, Mary Bell; brothers, Murdoch, Malcolm and John K.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, October 11, in Oakridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1078 Old Sackville Road, Middle Sackville with Rev. Robert Chapman officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Royal Canadian Legion, Lower Sackville.
Memorial donations in memory of Jessie may be made to Kidney Foundation of Canada or Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society.
