McNamara, Sarah Margaret - Age 84 of Evanston. It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home of Sarah Margaret McNamara (McInnis), with her loving family by her side. Born in Port Hawkesbury on June 10, 1935 to the late Margaret Anne Ryan and Hugh Angus MacInnis.
Sarah was a very kind and gentle soul who made an impact on everyone who knew her. Her faith in god and love for her family was unconditional.
She is survived by her sons, Hughie (Rose Marie), Paul (Gloria), Robert and Francis (David); brother, Sylvester (Edith); sisters, Nana (Alexander), Mary Anne (William). She was also survived by her sister-in-law, Marie Cogswell; grandchildren, Debbie, Alicia, Matthew, Sarah, Meghan, Jared, Tara, Katelyn, Along with great-grand children, Brett, Brayden, Aliyah, Jaxson, Rita, Nathan, Emily, Logan, Harrison, Emery, Oliver and Caysen. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Theodore "Ted" McNamara, her grandson, Craig Peter Joseph McNamara and her stepfather, Dougald MacKinnon.
The family would like to thank the Milford Haven Nursing Home and the Port Hawkesbury Nursing home for Sarah’s exceptional care.
By Sarah’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral mass to celebrate her life will take place in St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25 with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Whiteside. A reception to follow at the Riverdale Community Centre, Lower River. Donations can be made to the St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fund or a charity of one’s choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
