Fitzpatrick, Mary "Gail" – Age 75 years of Mulgrave, Guysborough Co. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gail on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at her residence. Born on Janvrin Island, February 8, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Bennie and Sophie (Boucher) Fougere. Gail’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She always made a point to call all her kids and grandkids and would lovingly say she’s "getting her ducks in a row". Her big passion was cooking and baking for people and playing cards, either going to card plays or hosting her own at home. She is survived by her daughters, Lola (Gordon Tarrant) Fitzpatrick and Jeannie (Sean) O’Leary; sons, Jimmy (Cis), Frankie and Donnie; 12 grandchildren, Freddie, Nelson, Cheryll, Eric, Selena, Taylor, Melissa, Amanda, Jenna, Shaina, Shelby, and Lee; 6 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Fred, Ethan, Montana, Brody and Karson; sister, Annamarie Hillier. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cathy Cass; granddaughter, Aly Fitzpatrick; brother, Earl and sister, Linda. Special thanks go out to Jimmy Simpson, all her card playing friends, all her home care workers, and her lifelong friend and cousin, Joanie George There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 7 in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Reception to follow in the Mulgrave Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 37, Mulgrave. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Gail to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
