MacIntosh, Ann Kerry – Age 77 of Baddeck formerly of River Denys passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in the Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck. Ann was born in Yarmouth; she was a daughter of the late John Murray and Bertha Clara (Dixon) MacIntosh. Ann was predeceased by her husband, James Byron "Jim" MacIntosh on October 17, 2018. Ann retired from teaching school after 35 years, having taught in Orangedale and Whycocomagh. Ann was a member of Forbes United Church, River Denys; Celtic Star Chapter # 19 O.E.S. and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 123, Whycocomagh, where she was awarded the Meritorious Service Award in 2003. Ann is survived by her sister, Vivian Winsor, Truro; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Duncan Gillis; sisters, Jenny, Doris and Eileen; brothers, Charlie, Frank and Eddie. The family would like to thank the staff at Alderwood and MacLeod House for their care and support over the past few years in Baddeck. A special mention to her visitors, Marilyn and Alex; Connie, Libby, Murena, The Gillis Family, friends from the trailer park and Johnny. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 23rd in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, January 24th from Forbes United Church, River Denys with Rev. R. Dale Crawford RDLM officiating. Burial at a later date in Fir Grove Cemetery, River Denys. A reception provided by the community and the Fire Department Auxiliary will follow in the Blues Mills Fire Department. Memorial donations may be made to Forbes United Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
