MacRitchie, James Lauchlin "JL" - of Kewstoke, age 54. Passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Baddeck on February 10, 1966, he was a son of Douglas and Cassie (MacDonald) MacRitchie. JL worked at the Little Narrows Gypsum for 32 years and then for Cape Breton Concrete Army. JL was a member of the Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department for 12 years and he was a member of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Iona. Besides his parents JL is survived by his wife, Marguerite (MacPherson), daughter, April, at home; son, Jordan, at home; sisters, Estelle (Don) Currie, Mississauga, Ont.; Darlene (Todd) Laffin, Lantz; niece, Keilidh Laffin, and nephews, Mitchell Currie and Devon Laffin. JL was predeceased by his brother, George S. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8 from 2-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Stewartdale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of JL to Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department or to Hospice Society of Victoria County.
