Shaw, Daniel Neilan "Bubby" – Baddeck. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Neilan "Bubby" Shaw of Baddeck, age 71, on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
"Bubby" was born in Sydney on June 8, 1949, he was the oldest son of the late Alex and Mary (MacInnis) Shaw. Bubby was a wonderful husband, caring father and grandfather and a great friend to all that knew him. He was a former Lieutenant and member with the Baddeck Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh.
Bubby is survived by his loving wife, Catherine "Kaye" (Nock), Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck and his three daughters, Jacqueline Nock, Baddeck, Doreen (Lee) Norman and Margo (Kevin) MacKenzie, Dena’s Pond. He had seven grandchildren that thought the world of him, Daniel, Andrew and Katelyn Norman, Colton, Blaze, Dalton and Baylee MacKenzie; three brothers, Rhyburn (Debby), Kenny (Gwynn) and Jamie (Charlene). Besides his parents he was predeceased by two granddaughters, Katrina and Brieanna and his sister Catherine Smith of whom nicknamed him "Bubby" and it was the name that stuck with him all these years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Alderwood Rest Home, Dr. Genge and Victoria County Memorial Hospital for their sincere care of Dad during his stay and brief illness.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Stewartdale Cemetery, Whycocomagh with Margie MacIntyre - LLWL officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
