Guy Joseph Alex Arsenault, 79, The Points, West Bay, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 in St Anne Nursing Centre in Arichat, after a lengthy illness.
Guy was born in MacAdam, New Brunswick. He was the son of the late Arthur and Eva Arsenault. He is survived by his wife Jeanette and his sons Darren (Youlie) Toronto and Wade (Mubina) Toronto. He is also survived by five siblings: Louise Tracy (Eric,) Moncton, N.B., Edward (Fern), St. Andrew's, N.B., Dianne Golding (Randy), MacAdam, N.B, Ricky (Darlene), St Stephen N.B. and David (Janice) MacAdam, N.B. He was preceded by his brother Ronnie and his sisters Carol Anne, Doreen and Theresa.
Guy was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 37 years. His last posting was St. Peters, N.S. After his retirement Guy worked at Addiction Services and Adult Protection N.S.
Guy was a devoted husband and father. He loved sports of all kind and especially loved watching his beloved Montreal Canadians hockey team. His pride and joy was his home and property on the shores of the beautiful Bras’dor Lake where he spent most of his time.
Guys final home was St. Anne Nursing Home where he received kindness and compassionate care. His family thanks them from the bottom of their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville Street, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, West Bay Road with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
