Hanley, Mary "Jessie" – Harbourview, Inverness Co. With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Mary "Jessie" Hanley in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Sunday, October 17, 2021 with family by her side.
Jessie was born in Harbourview on October 14, 1942 to parents Hughie and Sadie (MacDougall) MacInnis.
Jessie was truly a beautiful person, inside and out, with a deep faith in God. Her warmth, generosity, kindness, and sense of humour endeared her to all. She was always a willing and capable community volunteer in Judique and Creignish.
Family was everything to Jessie, family included her children and their friend’s, grandchildren, cherished siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors and friends, especially her closet friend Janice.
Everyone was welcome at Jessie and Jackie’s, no one left feeling unloved or hungry. Everyone mattered to Jessie.
A nature lover, Jessie’s happy place was the Shore Road Beach. She loved swimming, walking, collecting sea glass and spontaneous meetings with fellow beach lovers.
Jessie is survived by her husband of 57 years Jackie; son, Norman, Alberta; daughter, Erin (Shane) MacInnis; West Mabou; grandchildren, Amanda, Jenna, Courtney, Brittany, Dylan, Kaisey, John Hugh, Malcolm, Shamus; step-grandchildren, Jodie, Damian and Daniel, and precious great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Willis, Margie MacDonald, Rachel MacNeil; brothers, Sonnie (Rose) MacInnis and Vince (Dianne) MacInnis.
