Obituary
Please share a memory of Alvin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Allie passed away very suddenly yet peacefully in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital with his wife and children by his side. Known by many as Redeye, Allie loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was so proud of his children who, in the last several years, became his very best friends. He was over the moon to become a Grampie - Liam and Mason were his pride and joy.
Allie was one of a kind with his quick, dry wit and you just never knew what he was going to say (and it didn’t matter where he was when he said it!) He had a way of making you very mad, then turning around and making you laugh so hard. Allie would bend over backwards to do whatever he could to help his loved ones when they needed him. He was often seen driving around on his lawn tractor and earned the nickname ‘Forrest Gump’.
Allie is survived by his wife, Bonnie, daughter Robin (Wayne) of Havre Boucher, son Ryan (Malorie) of Port Hastings, estranged son Phil (given name Randy), his special little boys, Liam (Robin) and Mason (Ryan), sister Mary Melong and brother Ernest (Donna) Richards, all of Port Hawkesbury, his "brother from another mother" Burt (Valerie) Wilson of Edmonton, furry little buddy, Ivan (his little ol’ man), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends he considered family.
Allie was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Edith Richards, sister Hughena, brothers David and James Paul in infancy, and brother- in- law, Berkie.
A private family visitation and funeral mass will be held. As per Allie’s wishes, cremation will take place and burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made to the Holy Redeemer Convent in Sydney or a charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
