MacLeod, Robert Lamont - Whycocomagh. As a family we are saddened to announce the passing of Robert Lamont MacLeod, age 73 of Whycocomagh, on Monday, February 28, 2022. Born in Port Bevis on August 29, 1948, Robert was the son of the late Marjorie (Logan) MacLeod and Roderick MacLeod. Robert is survived by his wife Beatrice, daughters Tracy (Shawn) Malcolm, Trenton and Beverly (Randy) Ehler, Whycocomagh; 4 grandchildren, Logan, Lauchlin, Candice and Mya, and many nieces and nephews. Many fond memories were made growing up in South Haven and Aberdeen. Robert was the 5th born of 6 children —Leonard (Katherine), Byron (Vicky), Lev (Janet), Helen (Bill Campbell) and Velda (Fran). Robert is survived by his brother-in-law’s Myles (Evelyn) MacInnis and Frank MacInnis (Verda.) Robert, alongside Bea, operated Vi’s Restaurant for decades. Robert made many friends over the years. He could often be found at the racetrack or in the barns with other horsemen. Robert was an avid country music fan. He loved the Toronto Maple Leafs and whatever team Al MacInnis played on. He enjoyed a great story, a good laugh and spending time with family and friends. Robert was kind, with a heart of gold and great sense of humour. Over the years Robert was a member of the Whycocomagh Lions Club, Sircom Lodge 66 and Causeway Shrine Club. His generosity supporting local charities and organizations was second to none. Robert is predeceased by his parents Marjorie and Roderick, father-in-law J.P. MacInnis and mother-in-law Viola MacInnis, brother Byron, best friend Archie MacKay, and not only his nephew, but ‘little buddy" Owen Dermody. Our family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital and Cape Breton Regional Hospital (4D) for their care of our father.
